Cecile Monteyne

Cecile Monteyne came of age here in New Orleans.  After finishing up at Tulane University with a degree in theatre and environmental policy (maybe she still thought she was gonna be a lawyer), she packed up and moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting. While in NYC, she did theatre, film, some tv (the requisite Law & Order episode) and lots of improv with people at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade.  Then she hopped the pond and moved to London.  After several months of short-form “impro” ennuie, she decided to spread the long-form improv love to the Brits and started a weekly above pub meet-up. Musical Animal Funtime (or M.A.F.T.) enjoyed a brilliant but brief existence on the London scene. After a year of crumpets, rain and passive aggression, she decided to return to her hometown and has since joined up with the comedic exuberance which is The New Movement.  When she’s not doing improv, she’s writing sketch and acting about town in other projects.

She couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this exploding comedy scene. Well, maybe a little bit.
