Mission Objective: Making the case for Comedy at Free Press Summer Fest events in the future!

The Free Press Summer Fest is an annual two-day music festival held in Houston, Texas at Buffalo Bayou’s Eleanor Tinsley Park. The third annual event featured more than 160 national and local acts on eight stages and took place June 4-5, 2011 with a two-day attendance of over 60,000.We believe that in a city as large as Houston, the growing comedy scene should be integrated as a part of that festival. Festivals like Bonnaroo and SXSW feature comedy, and Houston’s Free Press Summer Fest would be the perfect art venue to showcase some of this city’s amazing comedic talent.Join us for a night of comedy featuring:Kevin Farren

Then TNM thought of two.
This Sunday at Avant Garden TNM Houston is celebrating making the whole night of comedy Totally Free from here on out and unveiling a fresh (in every sense of the word) cast!  The Megaphone show takes stories from a Houston notable and churns them into comedy butter. And to celebrate the re-christening of the weekly signature show, TNM’s got  Blake Whitaker, a writer at the Houston Press who is also doing a show with Boo Town in March to share his stories!
