Jump into the basics of TNM’s curriculum, get a good taste of how TNM produces shows and develops talent, and learn how to connect with your scene partners, friends, employees, and everyone else in your life in a thousand wonderful new ways. You’ll learn from TNM’s critically-acclaimed faculty for 8 weeks, culminating in a recital in front of a live, paying audience. You’ll also meet a million brilliant, nice people along the way. We hope you’re ok with that.
Amy Jordan has been working in theater for 20 years. From stage manager to performer to producer, she has worked in all aspects of theater production. She currently teaches improv and sketch comedy at The New Movement theater as well as The Georgetown Palace Theater.
She is the director, head writer and executive producer of The Neighborhood Sketch Comedy Show, a monthly show that has been running at The New Movement theater since 2010. She is also the producer and co-host of the weekly podcast, Yes But Why, which interviews performers around Austin and across the country about their journey as an artist and their aspirations for future projects.
We begin new classes every few weeks. If this one is sold out or held at an inconvenient time, look for our next class session here.
Our improv and sketch class sessions consist of 8 weekly, 2 hour sessions, and a recital show performed in front of an audience.
New class sessions start all the time; at $225 each for improv, $250 each for sketch. Ideally, students continue in the same time slot from Level 1 onward, but if you need to switch to another time or need more info about our Level 2-Level 5 classes or internships, please contact TNM’s Conservatory Director (Nola – TNMNOLA@gmail.com, ATX – TNMATX@gmail.com).
We also offer sketch writing classes, team building workshops for businesses and corporations, week-long and weekend intensives, and kids and teen comedy classes (NOLA only).
